Solid recorded for Micmac Records, and “Loving You,” catalog number MIC-508, placed the group on the label’s founding roster in its first run of releases.
“What Do You Say to a Lady” extended their catalog, and both records carry the classic Micmac group sound: harmonized vocals over club-length production. The full-length club version of “Loving You” runs famously long, a 12″ built for DJs who did not want the record to end.
Solid’s place in the genre is the founding-roster kind. When Micmac’s first-year catalog gets celebrated, “Loving You” is in it, and it appears on this site with its player.
