Suzy was just twelve years old when she recorded “Take Me in Your Arms,” the 1991 single that would define her career. Written by Tony Garcia, John Romano, Julian Hernandez, and Richard Miranda, and produced by Garcia, the track was pure freestyle perfection—shimmering synths, a driving beat, and a yearning vocal delivery that belied her age. The song became a crossover hit, reaching #53 on the Billboard Hot 100 and dominating dance floors and radio alike. It remains one of the genre’s most recognizable anthems.

The success of “Take Me in Your Arms” launched her debut album, Love Can’t Wait (1991), released on Mic Mac Records. She followed with a string of club favorites including “When I Fall in Love” and “Promise Me,” cementing her status as a freestyle headliner.
