Biography
Will To Power was the project of Miami producer and DJ Bob Rosenberg, named after the Nietzsche concept and built for the clubs. “Dreamin'” arrived in 1987 on Epic, a moody, bass-heavy record that became a major dance hit and a freestyle radio staple, with vocalist Suzi Carr’s delivery giving it the genre’s signature ache.
The follow-up made history of a stranger kind. “Baby, I Love Your Way/Freebird Medley” reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1988, welding Peter Frampton to Lynyrd Skynyrd over a freestyle-derived groove.
Rosenberg kept Will To Power recording into the 1990s, but “Dreamin'” is the record the freestyle audience kept. It remains a fixture of the genre’s playlists and holds its place on this site’s Top 100.
