Nocera Biography
Nocera, born Francesca Nocera in Italy, moved to the Bronx as a teenager and became a key figure in the late 1980s freestyle scene. She’s best known for her breakout single “Summertime, Summertime” (1986), released on Sleeping Bag Records, which climbed to No. 2 on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart. Her debut album, Over the Rainbow (1987), showcased her signature blend of pop hooks and dance-floor energy. Thanks to hits like “Let’s Go,” Nocera earned a loyal following, further cementing her place in freestyle history. She continues to perform at freestyle events, delighting fans of the genre’s classic era.
